bullet Captain WL (Bill) Owen RAN (Rtd). Bill was first CO of the Australian Submarine Squadron and was the first person to pay serious attention to the recognition of the AE1 ships company by being instrumental in having two plaques placed at the Rabaul War Cemetery at Bita Paka. He was
also Director of Submarine Policy in Canberra in the 70's helping to improve and grow the Asutralian Submarine force.
